There is a temptation to talk about podcasting, which I resist because podcasting can neither be understood nor adequately explained.
So I talk about web radio. Everyone understands radio.
I am excited by being able to broadcast radio over the internet.
I am currently broadcasting the audio from the Washington County Public Affairs Forum and the To The Point! TVCTV cable access broadcast. I am also offering these programs as podcasts, but we won't go into that.
I have the basic equipment and software to produce my own web radio. I could do music lead ins, interviews, commentary, anything I want. What I lack is an idea for a program that would be interesting enough, and easy enough to produce, that it would be worth the effort.
If you don't have something people want to listen to, they won't. Without listeners, radio isn't worth broadcasting.
Someday, I hope to come up with something good enough to be worth the effort of producing.
