Portland Podcasting is a group of people in Portland who are interested in podcasting, which is why naming the group Portland Podcasting was so appropriate.

The name is somewhat unfortunate, in a way, because we're not all from Portland and our interests are broader than podcasting.    In fact, some of us don't even like the term podcasting because few people understand what it is and nobody can explain it.

Never-the-less, I love this group.

This is the most interesting (in a geeky sort of way) group of people I've encountered in a long time.    However, you do have to be a bit of a geek to appreciate it.

What makes the group so interesting is the range of creative things these people are doing with this new technology.

The Delta Park Project is a podcast reaching thousands of people who are obsessed with the television series Lost.    Tranny Wreck is an edgy (actually sort of obnoxious) program that deals with transexual issues in a way you aren't going to encounter anywhere else.    The International Perfusion Journal is an international podcast created by an open heart surgeon who interviews surgeons all over the world concerning their experiences doing open heart surgery.

There are also people doing podcasting blogs, rock music podcasts, educational podcasts, among a whole slew of other things.

The group meets once a month and I never miss it.
